The short version

This is a static website. There are no accounts, no logins and no forms. We don't ask you for anything, and we don't store anything about you ourselves.

Two third parties do see something when you visit: our analytics provider, and any retailer whose link you click.

Analytics

We use privacy-focused analytics to count page views and see which posts people read. This records approximate location (country level), device type and referring site. It does not identify you, and we do not attempt to link it to a person.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links are affiliate links. When you click one, the retailer — usually Amazon — sets a cookie so they can attribute a purchase to this site. That cookie is theirs, set on their domain, and governed by their privacy policy, not ours.

We never see your order, your payment details, or what you bought. We see an anonymous count of commissions in a dashboard. See thedisclosure for how the money works.

What we don't do

• No email list, at present. If that changes, this page changes first.
• No advertising trackers or retargeting pixels.
• No selling or sharing of data — we have nothing to sell.
• No accounts, so no passwords and nothing to breach.

Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA) and, for visitors in the EU and UK, the GDPR, you can ask what data relates to you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted. Given we hold no identifying data, the answer is usually "none" — but ask and we'll tell you honestly.

Children

This site isn't directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect anything about them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes — new tracking, an email list, advertising — will be described here before they start.
